recorded at 543 blvd on tascam 424 4-track cassette during august-sept 2020 and live mixed all in one take (after a couple tries!) to 2-track 1/4" tape via teac 1230 in oct 2020.
"rank strangers" as performed by the stanley brothers.
"a desolate angels blues" written by justin townes earle, rip
"big rock candy mountain" written by harry mcclintock
"rocky top" written by somebody at one point now its for and by everybody
heavily featuring new roomies noah estrella and cole monroe as well as auxillary chillers josiah and sam spinach. these were some of the only people id get to see during covid quarantine and, being birch, took to recording short pockets of conversations and manipulating the sounds of different people in different rooms (particualrly during the Arian moveout-Noah move-in Empty Room era, did all the acapella stuff.)
"harbour" and "the nu age of shania twain" are both improvised originals. most of this is improvised!
