double-album + swan song of original home-recorded dangerous pop music & hard disco from Drew Kirby ((currently or formerly of Mothers, New Wives, O Key as well as local engineer//recordist for groups like Meth Wax, Kudzu Kids, Jianna Justice & founder of 10-years running local label Marching Banana)). at a runtime of over 72 minutes, this is the purported "final" civils album as all kirby's songwriting capacities have been redirected towards new pop band SUNSET HONOR UNIT (2021)!

the proverbial "covid quarantine album". inspired by the early chicago house of steve "silk" hurley, quiet storm lite-rockin of sade & brenton wood, disco revivalist todd terje, and mcgruff the crime dog's shockingly adept 80's PSA synth album "Smart Kids" - perhaps the ultimate over/underground classic. civils is ultimately pop music & noise, the challenge of clashing opposites!

["the first ATNATHS session occurred in february 2019 when both of my roommates went to puerto rico for a week and i demoed every new song i had written. the next and largest batch of sessions came when a proposed 2-month Of Montreal tour got cut in half by covid and i returned home with a digital MIDI soundbank (thanks george), nothing at all to do & a desire to learn to play keyboard."]
